Hi, I'm Steve.
For many years I struggled with my weight.
Like countless other people, I tried different approaches, listened to conflicting advice and knew I needed to make a change—but finding something that was realistic, sustainable and fitted around everyday life always seemed difficult.
Eventually I reached a point where I knew enough was enough.
I didn't want another fad diet.
I didn't want to spend my life counting calories or relying on meal replacement products.
I wanted to understand food.
That decision changed my life.
What makes my journey different is that I didn't achieve it through intense exercise or hours spent in the gym.
Living with ulcerative colitis and hip impingement meant that exercise wasn't a realistic option for me. Instead, I focused on something I could control every single day—the food I was putting into my body.
I began learning about ingredients, reducing my reliance on highly processed foods and making simple, sustainable changes to the way I ate.
Those small changes, repeated consistently over time, completely transformed my health and my weight.
I believe healthy eating should fit around your life—not take over it.
I don't believe you need to be perfect.
I don't believe one bad meal ruins your progress.
I don't believe you have to spend hours exercising to make meaningful progress if that's not realistic for your circumstances.
I do believe that small, consistent improvements can lead to remarkable long-term results.
That's exactly what happened to me.
After my own transformation, friends, family and colleagues began asking how I'd done it.
The answer was never a miracle diet or a secret formula.
It was about understanding food, making better choices and building habits that could be maintained for life.
That's why I created Just Better Food.
My goal is simple: to help people who are tired of dieting finally build a healthier relationship with food through personal coaching, encouragement and accountability.
